Second Week

Monday it was a holiday so we didn't do anything with our teams but I did go out and have drinks with all my friends. One big rule here is that we cannot drink with those that are underage nor our TLs, so if we go to a place and either are the then have to leave or else we both get in trouble. Tuesday 2/19: Breakfast from 6 - 8am Driver Safety Training 8am - 12pm Lunch 12 - 1pm 1 - 5 Driver Confidence Course It was fun doing the course because we had to do all these curves in our 15 passenger vans and be the ground crew and park within the lines. After the course we had our first day of Physical Training (PT) I chose to do volleyball and my team won! Wednesday: We spent the whole morning driving around Boulder and Denver in the vans making sure that those that had chosen to drive could drive. It was lots of fun and its really simple to drive the vans as they are just like a car just a bit hire and a lot longer. Since we finished early we had the whole day to ourselves until dinner. And if I haven't mentioned I want everyone to know that there were vegetarian options for everyone, a salad bar, and a soda machine. Thursday: A quality of Life lecture from 8am - 12pm. An Introduction to Projects and Service Learning Lecture from 1pm - 5pm PT from 5pm - 6:15pm Friday: Medical Checks in the am. So that entails TB shot, drug test, and tetanus shot. It was a quick and easy process. Team time for the rest of the day and since we are mostly going to be working in the FEMA offices (well at least most of us) we are not being issued steel toed boots. PT Saturday: My dorm mate from across the hall was turning 23 so we all went out to downtown Denver to the clubs where there are no cover charges! We had a lot of fun!
